Hello. I'm Elisa Karbin— poet, editor, educator, and author of the poetry chapbook Snare. I have a Ph.D. in creative writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I was a James A. Sappenfield fellow and a Tinsley Helton Dissertation fellow. I'm currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Marquette University, where I teach creative writing and composition.

My poems have appeared in Diode, Blackbird, CrazyhorseNotre Dame Review, Indiana Review, West Branch, and other venues, while my dissertation manuscript, The Auspices, has been a finalist for several nationwide contests, including Milkweed Edition's 2019 Ballard Spahr Prize.

I have three sisters, two cats, and one website— this one. Take a look around and feel free to get in touch. Welcome!
