Hello. I'm Elisa Karbin— poet, copywriter, educator, and author of the poetry chapbook Snare. I have a Ph.D. in creative writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I was a James A. Sappenfield fellow and a Tinsley Helton Dissertation fellow. I'm currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Marquette University, where I teach creative writing and composition.
My poems have appeared in Diode, Blackbird, Crazyhorse, Notre Dame Review, Indiana Review, West Branch, and other venues, while my dissertation manuscript, The Auspices, has been a finalist for several nationwide contests, including Milkweed Edition's 2019 Ballard Spahr Prize.
I have three sisters, three cats, and one website— this one. Take a look around and feel free to get in touch. Welcome!
